Liquid latex is safe to use with all types of yarns whether you’re working with wool, acrylic, cotton or other fibres and with any type of primary or secondary backing whether natural or synthetic. It's also suitable for any type of flooring surface, such as carpet, hardwood, and even heated floors.

This liquid latex is made from natural rubber latex - an organic raw material. It is sustainable, renewable and an eco-conscious choice of adhesive. It is 100% free from animal by-products, it does not contain VOCs and it is not hazardous to health or the environment. It is safe for those without latex allergies and regularly used in the production of medical goods, moulds and is even applied directly to the skin by special effects makeup artists.

  • CAUTION: Keep out of reach of children. People with latex allergies should avoid this product. Liquid latex may cause mild irritation on contact with eyes and skin, or mild irritation to the nose in the event it is used in a room without adequate ventilation. You must read the Liquid Latex Material Safety Data Sheet on this product before use. 
  • Size: 500ml
  • Coverage: 1 - 3 sq m. Plenty to cover rugs made on the frame in our Tufting Starter Kit. Coverage depends on how thickly you apply the latex, along with the type of material you are applying it to. 
  • Dry Time: 12 to 36 hours
  • Odour: Tuftbox Liquid Latex is low-ammonia and has a mild smell which dissipates quickly as it dries. 
  • Colour: White drying to a light amber
  • Shelf-life: 3-6 months
  • Storage: Store in a cool, well ventilated area. Keep the container tightly closed. Keep away from direct sunlight. Natural latex is extremely sensitive to cold and should be kept above 5 Celsius at all times.
  • Please Note: Liquid Latex adheres to fibrous materials firmly and permanently. Always test before committing to a large area, to make sure the glue works well with your specific materials. Before application ensure that carpeted floors and clothing are protected in case of spills.
